Writing Has Begun on the New Madrona Heroes Book
(Well, more accurately, when I stop procrastinating by writing this blog post, writing will have begun.) Today I start writing the new Madrone Heroes book. It will be the third book in the series, though it will officially be #6 since I went the crazy Star Wars route and started with #4. I’m proud to announce that the follow-up to Echoes of the Past and Underneath it All will be The Madrona Heroes Register: Nothing as it Seems. My goal is to get it to you by May of 2016. Right now it looks to be almost as big as the last book, but these things have a way of morphing over time both shorter and longer, so who really knows. Bottom line, every ounce of free time I have over the next several months will be spent churning out chapters of this new book. And frankly, especially in the early chapters, it can be a real grind. I find, that the best encouragement I get is hearing from people who’ve read the first two books, and hearing a) what they think, b) their theories of what’s going on, and c) their excitement to see what happens next. So if you fall into any of those buckets, I definitely encourage you to share.
Writing can be hard, painful work, except until the last few chapters where for some reason, the work becomes light and I start flying through. Publicly proclaiming my commitment to doing the writing is how I make sure I do it though. In other words, I force myself to write by making the pain of not writing greater than the pain of writing. So with that, I’m off. I’ll do my best to keep you posted, and myself moving as fast as I can.
